Midway Awarded Bayer Grant
Midway Public School has been named as a $25,000 grant recipient for the America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education program sponsored by the Bayer Fund. The funds will be used to purchase drones, GPS equipment and 3-D printers that are identical to those used by agricultural companies to support farmers. Partnerships are being established with area businesses to make this a real-life experience for the students. We are thrilled about this amazing and innovative opportunity. We will be announcing a date when a representative from the Bayer Fund will come to Midway to present the check. The public and media are invited.
Purpose of America’s Farmers Grow Rural Education
America's Farmers Grow Rural Education was introduced in 2011 to partner with farmers to support their local school districts. The program offers farmers the opportunity to nominate rural public school districts to compete for merit-based STEM grants.
The Bayer Fund is a nonprofit organization dedicated to strengthening the overall health and well-being in communities where farmers and Bayer employees live and work. Visit the Bayer Fund at www.monsantofund.org.
