Happy Principal Appreciation Day! I’m Mrs. Dale, and while I’m usually the one behind these posts, it feels a little strange writing one about myself! I would like to honor our current leadership team. How lucky am I to work alongside such an incredible principal and superintendent? Mr. Salyer and Mr. Irvine are true blessings to Midway. Leadership roles aren’t easy—but they’re so rewarding. Every day brings the chance to connect with staff, students, and families, and that reminds us why we do what we do. Being a principal or superintendent often means facing challenges and making tough calls. Compliments can be rare, but we keep going because we believe in doing what’s best for kids. And even when decisions aren’t always popular, the heart of this job is always centered around students. I’ve been truly fortunate to work with some of the best administrators at Midway. I have learned from their example and strive to lead with the same grace and integrity. I’m especially thankful for the mentorship of Nancy Brueckner, George Lee, Roger Abbe, Mary Sorvig (Jelinek), and Karen O’Neil—to name just a few. Your impact continues to guide me. 💙 Thank you to our Midway community for allowing me to be the leader I am today! I truly love Midway! Third Grade to the Rescue! Recently, our amazing third graders put their math skills to the test and saved some patients by using the correct order of operations! With quick thinking, teamwork, and sharp math minds, they showed just how important problem-solving can be — both in the classroom and beyond. Way to go, third grade heroes! #MathInAction #OrderOfOperations #ProudSchool

Our preschool students celebrated Earth Day in the best way—by taking care of our school grounds! With little gloves and big hearts, they helped pick up trash and learned the importance of keeping our planet clean. We're proud of these young environmental heroes making a big impact in our little corner of the world! #EarthDay #PreschoolPower #LoveOurSchool #FuturePlanetProtectors

More 4th grade homes! Our 4th graders have been diving into the history and culture of the Hidatsa, Mandan, and Arikara Tribes of North Dakota! These three agricultural tribes lived in earthlodges and had rich traditions we’ve been learning all about. To bring their learning to life, students created paper-mâché bowls and added their own decorative touches—and they turned out amazing! We’re so proud of their creativity and curiosity!
