REMINDER: The Elementary Christmas Program begins tonight at 7:00 PM in the Midway gymnasium.

Sometimes students take all of the initiative. Put together, planned, and executed entirely by the Junior class; a Thanksgiving Feast! We hope you had a great Thanksgiving as well!

One of our NHS members, Elyse, is on to our next project...Miracle of Books. She is pairing high schoolers and elementary students. More pictures to come in December.

Some of our NHS members boxing up the turkey baskets. Pictured are Gracie and Brooke...not pictured are Maddy and Bre. Great job! Thank you!

Happy Thanksgiving Everyone! We just completed our Week of Giving at Midway. This is one of my favorite events! This event is a partnership between FCCLA and NHS, our entire school, and our community. Mrs. Sailer is finishing the final totals for Sox For Kids, so far our total is close to $2000. That is amazing! Also, we collected so many items for our turkey baskets. We had enough items for 17 baskets that were delivered to families in our community. We know things are tighter for everyone, and yet donations were given. We are an amazing community! Thank you all so much!

The Macy's Day Parade came to Midway! The 4th graders created some amazing balloon creations.

Day 2 of the Week of Giving is over. We had many happy Bingo winners and the Change Wars continued. 2nd grade took the lead in the weight category and 6th grade took the lead in the money category. Tomorrow is the last day so to support Sox For Kids through fun competition and activities!

The kindergarteners read Bear Snores On, made dioramas and celebrated by eating popcorn and nuts, and drinking cold sweet tea. They got to dress up like an animal, and bring in stuffed animals and eat on their "caves".

The 7th & 8th grade student council members and the junior and senior student council members decorated Christmas trees for the L.IS.T.E.N. Center's Festival of Trees. They are located in the Columbia Mall. We have been participating for many years. Trees are given to families.

Day One of The Week of Giving was a success. Four kids came away victorious with their guessing jars and many dressed up in pajamas. We have raised over $500 for Sox For Kids. 4th grade is in the lead in both weight and dollar amount for the Change Wars.
If you haven’t paid for the weeks activities you can still do that. (See the flyer for more info)
Tomorrow we continue our week with Crazy Hair or Hat Day, schoolwide Bingo, and of course Change Wars!
