🩸🔬 Mrs. Erickson’s 4th graders turned into scientists! Dr. Dover, our local vet, brought in an exciting (and a little mysterious!) challenge — three unlabeled blood slides, one from a sick dog. Students used microscopes to study each slide under different objective lenses, wrote detailed descriptions, and compared what they saw to known traits of blood. After lots of observation and discussion… success was had by all the groups! 👏🐾 #HandsOnLearning #FutureScientists

🩸 A huge thank you to everyone who came out to donate blood at the Midway Blood Drive! Your generosity helps save lives. ❤️ This event was organized by our National Honor Society, and these amazing students did an outstanding job making sure everything ran smoothly and that all our donors were well taken care of. 🍁 Preschool & 7th Grade Buddies! 🍂 Mrs. Berry’s preschoolers and Mrs. Lehman’s 7th graders teamed up for some fall fun! Together, they made beautiful sun catchers, created thoughtful thank-you cards for our amazing custodians who keep our school shining, and enjoyed a snack while reading cozy fall books. ❤️🖤

🧠🔩 Our 5th graders just wrapped up their Science unit on Simple Machines — and what a creative bunch they are! From levers to pulleys, they discovered that simple machines are everywhere in our daily lives. Students designed real-life examples and brought their ideas to life using a variety of materials. Way to go, young engineers! ⚙️👏

🔥🚒 Fire Safety Week at Midway! 🚒🔥 Mrs. Berry's preschoolers learned about fire safety this week.

🔥🚒 Fire Safety Week at Midway! 🚒🔥 Today, our students had the amazing opportunity to meet our local firefighters. They learned valuable lessons about fire safety and even got to explore the fire truck up close! A big thank you to the Gilby Firefighters for sharing their time and keeping our community safe. ❤️

🍎🥧 Mrs. Osowski’s kindergarteners had a sweet day! After reading our poem about apples, we rolled up our sleeves and made apple pie. What a tasty way to celebrate our learning! ❤️

Our 7th graders had an awesome day exploring real-world careers during Manufacturing Day! 🏭✨ They toured Motor Coach Industries in Pembina and American Crystal in Drayton, learning firsthand how teamwork, innovation, and hard work come together in the manufacturing world. A huge thank you to both companies for opening your doors and inspiring our students to dream big about their futures! 🙌💡

NHS is sponsoring a blood drive on Wednesday, October 8 from 9 am to 2pm. There are no sign-ups, just come to the school at any time during those hours and donate. If you are 16 and would like to donate, a consent form needs to be completed before donation.
